These cards are truly one of a kind. Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. When creating cards, the wax is applied to an encaustic iron and applied in a very thin layer to the paper. The image is applied with ink, fused into the wax with a torch (yes, fire is used), and covered with a layer of wax sealer for protection.
Each card measures 4x6 inches and is created on heavy weight 300 GSM cardstock (110lb) and is acid-free and archival safe. When the card is opened, the inside left is covered in wax and sealed. The inside right is blank and can be written on. The envelopes are 120 GSM weight.
