This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
This art piece has a textured tree with an orange and pink background. It is an irregularly shaped piece of wood from where the branch joins the trunk of a tree. It measures approximately 11 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and 3.5 inches deep. Ring hook on back for easy hanging.
The wood used in this piece was salvaged from a local wood turner.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
