These earrings will quickly become one of your favorite accessories! Each encaustic earring is unique, lightweight, and earth friendly.
Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the substrate and fused with a torch. Wax sealer is then applied.
For length and width, please see the photo. These encaustic earrings feature my signature sun created with encaustic paint and covered with shellac which is then burned off to create the sun design.
These encaustic earrings were created using a process I developed to create a substrate using salvaged items including chipboard, wood, or birch bark. The birch bark used for this pair of earrings was salvaged locally from fallen trees. Each piece has been cut, sanded, flattened, and reinforced with wood glue.
These are fine art earrings and should be handled carefully. They won’t melt up to 150 degrees.

It is strongly encouraged to wear the backings provided so an earring does not fall out.
