This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
These two pieces have some texture in the background and the pink and yellow abstract flowers are textured. The sides are painted blue/grey with visible drips.
The yellow abstract floral piece measures 19.75 inches tall, 10 inches wide, 0.75 inches deep. Wire hanger on back for easy hanging.
The pink abstract floral piece measures 20 inches tall, 10 inches wide and 0.75 inches deep. Wire hanger on back for easy hanging.
The wood used in these pieces was salvaged from a local cabinet company dumpster.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
