These earrings will quickly become one of your favorite accessories! Each encaustic earring is unique (just like you), lightweight, and earth friendly.
Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the substrate and fused with a torch. Wax sealer is then applied.
For length and width, please see the photo. These earrings feature various shades of blue, light green and white. The edges are finished with dark blue encaustic paint.
These encaustic earrings were created using a process I developed to create a substrate using salvaged items including chipboard, wood, or birch bark. The wood used for this pair of earrings was salvaged from a local elementary school dumpster and has been reinforced with glue.
These are fine art encaustic earrings and should be handled carefully.
