This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
This abstract piece features blue encaustic medium covered with black shellac. The shellac is then burned off to reveal the blue wav below. Pink, yellow, and purple are also highlighted in this piece. It is created on a wood panel. This piece measures approximately 40 inches tall, 30 inches wide, and 1.5 inch deep. The sides are unpainted wood. Wire hanger is attached to the back.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
