This encaustic wall art is unique and earth friendly! Encaustic is a wax-based paint made of beeswax, resin, and pigment. It is applied while in a molten state onto the wood and fused with a torch.
This piece is highly textured in areas and smooth in others. The sides are painted blue with visible drips. This piece measures approximately 29.25 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 1 inch deep. Wire hanger on back for easy hanging.
The wood used in this piece was salvaged from a local cabinet company dumpster.
Care of encaustic art:
Gently wipe every 3 months with a soft cotton cloth to dust and restore shine. Do not place in direct sunlight or store in extremely hot (hot car) or cold temperatures (garage in winter). Do not place it outside.
